Besides writing fiction, my other writing interests include romantic poetry, and inspirational verse. I am proud to say that my poetry has been published in two coffee table books and because of this accomplishment I received the Editors Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry two years in a row. I was nominated for Poet of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and I have been inducted as An International Poet of Merit by the International Society of Poets. I have also received the distinguished honor of 2006 Poetry Ambassador and was selected to receive the Official 2006 Commemorative U.S. Poetry Ambassador Medal.

Wild Orchid Book Cover Designs
I began my book cover designing career by attempting to design a cover for my own contemporary romance novel "She Cried in the Dark." After several attempts and mistakes, I finally came up with something that I thought would do my first book justice. Social media was just beginning to become popular, which we all know has allowed us to create our own websites, blogs, facebook pages and more.
Designing an impressive cover requires not only talent, but lots of time, overflowing imagination, and an eye for bold designs. Fortunately, I have always been creative and use this to my advantage. Having a strong visual eye, and an ability for writing, as well as being able to see a story in my mind with only a few sentences is what Wild Orchid Book Cover Designs prides itself on.
We have all heard the saying "you don't judge a book by it's cover", when indeed we do. That is the way our brains are wired. Your eye automatically is drawn to something that is visually appealing and stimulating, making you want to pick that item or person or whatever it may be.
I work hard and put in long hours designing a cover that you believe portrays your story with on 6X9 picture and some text.
It is an honor to work with the authors and publishers that I do. Having their trust and knowing that my creativity is what they want to help sell their masterpiece is a privilege. I take pride in the work that I put out and until it's absolutely perfect...it is not ready to be shown to the public. But, the outcome is worth every bit of my effort and persistence. It is awesome to feel the pride that comes with getting it 'right'.
Just a little bit about me......
I have always had a love for writing and creativity ever since I can remember. I began writing poetry and short stories when I was in high school, but needless to say, I never pursued it until almost 15 years ago when my real journey on my literary path began. Since then I have written and published two Romance novels and have been honored to receive several awards for my poetry....
My creative venture in book cover design, which I have been doing for quite a while now, began with my own covers and then I branched out to fellow authors and several publishers. When I'm not writing or designing you can usually find me doing something that involves being creative some how.
Please explore my website...you will find that I do things a bit out of the box, dance to the beat of my own drum so to speak. I guess you could even say that I am 'quirky' which is a great thing. I am not afraid to deviate from what others consider to be the 'NORM'. As you are jumping from page to page it will become more apparent that I love, love, love color....lots of color. I am also a huge fan of the 'shabby chic' style mixed with some country/farmhouse, this will show in my design boxes in which I showcase things you need to know. I am also as close as you can get to a 'perfectionist' when it comes to my work...or creativity. I will work until my eyes are falling out of my head and my fingers start to cramp, and then I know that I'm on the right track. I like to believe that the colorful side of me shows in my book covers and website designs, as well as my writing. However, if you choose me to design your website, this does not mean that yours will look like mine unless you want it to. I do think that being on both sides of the spectrum helps me to be able to put your words into a picture.
She Cried in the Dark was my first work of literary fiction followed by
Because You Loved Me.(Previously titled The Other Side of You)They are both contemporary romance that will not only get your blood pumping but have your heart fluttering as well.
I'm part of a large Italian family and we enjoy getting together to share stories while sitting around the table and of course-EAT! Besides my family, my other true love is travel, and I am always looking forward to where my adventures take me next.
